An East Dubuque man has been charged with first-degree murder after authorities said he shot and killed a man outside a Jones County grocery store. 38 year old Nathan Russell was charged in Iowa District Court of Jones County with first-degree murder, going armed with intent and felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the November 7 incident. A report says that authorities responded around 7:30 a.m. on November 7th to Fareway Foods in Monticello. Upon arrival, officers located Fareway employee 48 year old Aaron McAtee of Monticello, outside the store with multiple gunshot wounds. McAtee was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where he later died.
