The Grant County Dispatch Center received a notification from an Apple I-Phone that had detected crying and an abrupt stop on Wednesday November 15th around 9am. Given the location and the information, it was suspected that a motor vehicle crash had occurred. Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS responded and found a one vehicle crash on County Highway A just west of Pine Knob Road. The driver, 17 year old Lily Knapp of Bloomington, had been eastbound on County Highway A when she lost control of her vehicle after driving onto the gravel shoulder. The vehicle entered the south ditch where it overturned and sustained heavy damage. Knapp was injured in the crash and taken by Lancaster EMS. Knapp was wearing her seat belt. Knapp was cited for failure to maintain control of her vehicle. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Lancaster Fire, Lancaster EMS, and Arrow Towing of Lancaster.
