A one-vehicle slide-off crash occurred Tuesday morning around 6:30am in Grant County. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call of a one vehicle “slide-off” crash on Banner Road near Richter Road. The driver, 52 year old Shaun Reuter of rural Platteville told the investigating deputy that he was driving his vehicle, going about 45 MPH, north on Banner Road at about 5:45 AM. The roads were covered with snow and slush at that time. He said that the back end of his truck started to slide to the right. He said that he tried to correct this but was not able to and the truck crossed the road to the left, entered the ditch, struck a guidewire to a utility pole, and a speed limit sign. This caused moderate damage to the passenger side of his truck. He was wearing his seatbelt and not injured in the crash.
