Wedneday morning just before 8 AM the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Hwy 151 at Kieler, north of Cty H. 20-year-old Zoee Weber of Dubuque, was driving south on Hwy 151 and was witnessed weaving in the right, southbound lane, including over the rumble strip on the shoulder. Weber then went to pass a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Vincent Simonini of Cassville. Weber’s vehicle appeared to merge to the right, toward Simonini’s vehicle and then suddenly swerved left, losing control, and eventually striking Simonini’s vehicle. This caused Simonini to go right, off the shoulder and over the embankment. The vehicle went through a chain link fence at the rear of Southwest Health’s Kieler Clinic then entered the parking lot and struck four parked cars before coming to rest. Simonini and his wife 64-year-old Kelly Simonini were transported by private vehicle to a local hospital for evaluation. Weber’s vehicle left Hwy 151 to the left, entered the median, and came to rest there. Weber reported she had very little sleep and was very tired as she was driving to school. Weber was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle. All but one of the six vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Jamestown Fire Department and First Responders, Dickeyville EMS, Kieler Service Center, and Donnie’s Tire and Auto.
