Part of a controversial power transmission line that will span from Dubuque County to Dane County in Wisconsin is now in service, according to officials with the Cardinal-Hickory Creek power transmission line. A release states that the eastern half of the 345-kilovolt transmission line, which runs from a substation near Middleton to one near Montfort, Wisconsin is now operational following more than two years of construction.
