On Wednesday, at about 11:15 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US Highway 61 and East Sunbeam Boulevard in the Village of Soldiers Grove. 31 year old Anthony France of Viroqua, was driving a pickup truck southbound on US Highway 61, and as he was preparing to make a left-hand-turn onto East Sunbeam Boulevard, he was rear-ended by a sports utility vehicle driven by 67 year old Bonnie Amundson of Sparta. Amundson sustained minor injuries and she was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Both vehicles had disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. Amundson was cited for following too close, and France was cited for no seatbelt and no insurance. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Soldiers Grove Fire Department, Soldiers Grove Public Works, North Crawford Rescue Squad, Sleepy Hollow Towing Service, Terry’s Tire & Tow Service, and passerby motorists.
