A woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for fleeing a Dubuque traffic stop while an officer was reaching into her vehicle, and leading authorities on a high-speed chase. 40-year-old Lonza Caudill of Madison recently received the sentence from Iowa District Court Judge Thomas Bitter in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to charges of assault on persons in certain occupations with use or display of a dangerous weapon, eluding and operating while under the influence. As part of a plea deal, a second charge of assault on persons in certain occupations was dismissed. The charges stem from an Oct. 6 traffic stop in which court documents state Caudill was pulled over shortly after midnight for driving the wrong way at the Fifth Street off ramp off U.S. 61.
