Authorities say a fire destroyed a home and its contents near Potosi on Sunday. Potosi Fire Chief, Ryne Emler said firefighters responded just before 4 AM, Sunday to the home of Mark and Paula Richardson of Potosi Township. Emler said the residents escaped the home when smoke detector alerted them to the early morning fire. There were no injuries, but the Richardsons lost everything, including all of their clothing. Emler said clothing donations are sought for the couple. Sizes needed are 14-16 women’s pants, large-size women’s shirts, women’s size-7 shoes or botts, 35/36-by-32 men’s pants, large-size men’s shirts, and men’s size 12D shoes or boots. Clothing and money donations are accepted at the Potosi Village Hall on North Main Street. The house is a total loss. Emler said authorities believe an electrical issue started the blaze.
