A local college is closing due to a burst pipe from the freezing temperatures. Southwest Wisconsin Technical College’s Fennimore campus will be closed Thursday, January 18th after a sewage line broke in the sub-zero temperature. The break requires water to be shut off on the campus until repairs are complete. Faculty and staff will be working remotely and students will also be learning remotely but should check their My SWTC for additional instruction from faculty. Outreach sites, excluding Fennimore, will remain operational. Additionally, students will be receiving special instructions from their resident Life Manager regarding student housing. Southwest Tech anticipates having water and being able to open on Friday, but due to the weather and the unknown extent of damages, it could be longer.
