A judge has ruled that multiple ordinances approved by the Galena City Council permitting the construction of a major resort project now are void, leaving the future of the development unclear. In a court order entered in Jo Daviess County Circuit Court on Monday, Judge John Hay found in favor of Galena resident Wendy Clark on one count of Clark’s lawsuit against the city of Galena, as well as development groups True North Quality Homes and Bien Vie. Clark’s complaint, filed initially in 2022 and amended last year, addressed The Parker resort project, which was set to be built on nearly 100 acres that includes the Galena Marine Hospital. Plans for the site include more than 100 cottages, a restaurant, a vineyard and many other amenities.
