A southwest Wisconsin man, who is a cadet with the state patrol, has been arrested following accusations of sexual assault from more than a decade ago. Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office took 31-year-old Zachary Hogenson into custody early Thursday. He has been charged with felony repeated sexual assault of a child. According to a report, 11 years ago when Hogenson was 19, he allegedly had dozens of sexual encounters with a 14-year-old girl in Grant County. Hogenson spent about a year as an officer with the Fennimore Police Department and had applied for a job with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office before becoming a Wisconsin State Patrol cadet. Officials in Iowa County have been heading up the sexual assault investigation due to Hogenson’s ties to law enforcement departments in Grant County.
