A man from Argyle has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for slashing a woman with a knife. 33 year old Joseph Wallgren of Argyle received the sentence from Circuit Court Judge Derrick Grubb in Lafayette County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree attempted intentional homicide. Wallgren also will serve 10 years of extended supervision after his prison term. According to reports, authorities received a 911 call April 11 reporting that a 59-year-old woman had been cut with a knife at a residence on Railroad Street in the Village of Argyle. The woman was taken by ambulance to Monroe Clinic Hospital for treatment of substantial, but non-life-threatening injuries with a laceration to her neck.
