A Platteville man who drove drunk with a toddler in his vehicle in Dubuque was sentenced to 60 days in jail and two years of probation. 36 year old Julius Schaeffer of Platteville entered a guilty plea to felony operating while intoxicated-first offense. Iowa District Court Judge Thomas Bitter also imposed a $1,250 fine on Schaeffer. Schaeffer was credited with time served in jail. According to a report, Schaeffer was arrested Dec. 31 in the 2600 block of Dodge Street. Schaeffer was located in a vehicle with a 22-month-old child in the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle. Schaeffer tested positive for alcohol consumption.
