Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning around 6:30am at the intersection of County Highway D and County Highway H in Smelser Township. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, 54 year old JoAnn Harris of rural Cuba City was traveling east on County Highway H. At the same time, 42 year old Adriano Ayres of rural Platteville was traveling south on County Highway D. Ayres did not stop at the stop sign on County Highway D at the intersection with County Highway H and struck the front driver’s side of Harris’ vehicle. Harris was injured and taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque and Ayres was injured and taken to Southwest Health Center in Platteville due to injuries he sustained in the crash. Ayres was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Cuba City EMS, the Cuba City Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
