Two injured in motorcycle and deer collision

Two people were injured following a motorcycle and deer collision last week. On Tuesday, June 30, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motorcycle vs. deer crash with injuries, on Old Potosi Road, near Seemore Ridge Road, in Potosi.  58-year-old Henry Melssen of Dickeyville, was driving on Old Potosi Road, when a deer entered the roadway and struck the motorcycle causing the motorcycle to enter the ditch. As a result, Melssen suffered a broken leg and was transported to a hospital by Potosi EMS. His passenger, Maria Melssen, was injured and was also transported by ambulance. The motorcycle received minor damage and had to be towed from the scene.
