Family Advocates has their purple lantern lit to honor a recent domestic violence related homicide. In Wisconsin, when a domestic violence–related homicide occurs, many families and communities choose to display a purple lantern to: honor the life lost, raise awareness about domestic violence, support survivors and families affected, and remind others that no one should suffer in silence. The lantern is lit to honor 62-year-old Todd Nechkash Sr. of Ridgeway, whose estranged wife was formally charged with first–degree homicide earlier this week.
